CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, CHICO, tenure-track position. Asst. Professor
beginning August 1996. Must have Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology and fieldwork
in the applied aspects of cultural anthropology. Prefer recently-trained
scholar. Successful university teaching and scholarship or potential for such,
and ability to teach multicultural and international student population.
Continued scholarship and publication required for tenure and promotion. Must
administer Certificate in Applied Cultural Anthropology. Strong preference
for candidate who can teach courses in applied anthropology, comparative
religion, quantitative methods/computer applications. Opportunity to develop
courses in specialty. Work load: normally four courses per semester plus
advising and committee work. Salary: $34,236 - $39,360 commensurate with
