Anthropology in Germany

I am an American studying in Germany who will soon complete his M.S. in
the U.S..

My question regards the possbility and benifits of dissertating,
that is, "promovieren", at a German University. I am primarily
considering the universities of Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, and Frankfurt.

Could you please give me your experience and/or ideas regarding the possible
pros and cons of the above strategy. Keep in mind that I someone who would
like someday to seek, and find, employment as an academic Anthropologist.
