The arrogant and insensitive comments by Mike Lieber <U28550@UICVM.BITNET>
regarding the pending slaughter of indiginous people in Chiapas shows that
he has lost contact with, along with the meaning of his name, the basic
human abhorance to suffering. Anthropologists have an obligation to
attempt to recognize the impact that they bring to simpler cultures.
Unfortunately the profession has observers who, like Lieber, would rather
sit at their consoles and deride. Your comments, Mr. Leiber, are not
funny. By the way, your candidate for President just dropped out of the
race; Mickey refused to run on his ticket.
