Being a burgeoning anthropologist (paying the money *I* do for these
courses, I can call myself anything I want :), I must say that
"anthropology" is far too general a term. Anthropology has undergone
several incarnations. I personally feel that anthro has nothing to do
with "objectivity." Rather, it is the study of culture and society
through the eyes of the observer/participate. Objectivity when dealing
with something as arbitrary, self-defined, and complex as "culture" seems
foolhardy to me. I'd like to go into more detail on the more objective
aspects of anthropology, but it's been a long summer and I'm kind of
rusty. Good question though. Gets the ol' brain working again :)
