Magic among "primitive" societies

Looking for a book or books that detail magic in "primitive" societies.
For example, the anthropologist E.E. Evans-Pritchard talks about witch-doctors
doing bogus psychic surgery to heal people... hiding animal guts in their hands
and then apparently pulling them out of a person's chest, in the book
_Witchcraft, Oracles, and Magic Among the Azande_ Oxford U. Press. Are
there any books entirely devoted to magic among shamans, witchdoctors, etc.
Again, I'm not talking about "supernatural" magic... but "mundane" magic -
used I guess to put people at ease in lieu of modern medical treatment.
Or for the purpose of social control via astonishment and fear.
