I am getting ready to apply to grad school in anthro and I am trying to
help focus my "area of interest" so I can prepare a "do-able" thesis
without getting in too far over my head.

Does anybody know of any references or good resources for using a
symbolic approach to studying either death/burial ritual or ancient
cultures? I am specifically interested in studying Hittite social
organization and I was hoping someone may have heard of using a symbolic
anthro approach to looking into prehistoric cultures/archaeology in
general.

Please respond directly to me unless someone thinks that this is a topic
worthy of discussion on the list.
