FYI: Billy Graham on anthropology

In an interview with Colin Greer entitled "Change will come when our hearts
change" that appeared in _Parade Magazine" this past Sunday, the Reverend
Billy Graham had this to say when asked if there was anything he would have
done differently:

"I would have studied more. I would have gotten my Ph.D. in anthropology. I
studied anthropology at Wheaton. It helped me understand the race question
in America and ethnic problems all over the world." (p. 6)

It's a remarkable coincidence to me that just last year I found myself really
enjoying listening to Graham and his often ironic and funny, but also
immensely warm sermons on TV. And now he's returning the complement to our
discipline. This is a great tribute to the field. One that I find very
satisfying.
