Deer Valley Rock Art Center
Academic Associate
Full-time, 12-month Appointment
The Deer Valley Rock Art Center is a research and interpretive
center operated by Arizona State University's Department of
Anthropology. It is located in north Phoenix at the site of the
largest concentration of prehistoric petroglyphs in the Phoenix
area.
Essential functions: The Academic Associate manages the day-to-day
operations of the Deer Valley Rock Art Center at its location in
north Phoenix by supervising, scheduling, and appropriately
delegating tasks to staff, students, and volunteers; coordinating
the full range of the Center's public and research activities;
maintaining the Center's accounting records; assisting as necessary
with admissions, shop sales, group tours, and public events.
Qualifications Required: MA or equivalent education and/or work
experience in anthropology, archaeology, museum studies, or
related field; strong managerial (accounting and personnel) and
communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated
evidence of knowledge of Southwestern native cultures; interest
in rock art; computer experience. Salary: Mid 20s, plus benefits.
