Thanks to everyone who sent me information on Koko--maybe not surprisingly
the student who asked has disappeared--spooky, no? ANyway, Koko is alive
and well and is living in California (there were a few different placess
mentioned). For anyone interested there is the Gorilla Foundation which
can be reached at box 620-530, Woodside, CA 94062. OTher news includes
Koko's search for a spouse-maybe through computer dating, a new home
in Hawaii? and a recent article in Discover magazine. THere is also an
earlier book titled Silent Partners from the mid 1980s.

Thanks to everyone for the information, I hope my student resurfaces to
hear it.
