Brian, re: NSEP. some host countries could care less about your funding,
others won't talk to you if they hear about nsep! where are you headed
for? also, fulbright and flas used to be under DOD but now they're not
(now thy're in in DOE - dept of education). so its not a big deal for most
pep here in usa. DOD won't make you do any work but you'll have to write a
report, like any granting agency requires. (you do have to say you're gonna
be a teacher or at least use your lang. and culture training in a capacity
for gov't or teaching. Fulbright & others do this too.) just to let you
know, i hear that conservatives want all int'l granting agencies to return
to DOD - now THAT'S SCARY!!!
