Sorry to be so anachronistic with this one, but, if your interested in
exchange and obligation, especially re: Maussian theory, you really ought to
check out Pierre Bourdieu's _Outline of a Theory of Practice_ (translated
1977). It's no picnic, but well worth the effort.
