Odd-ball science

There is no problem at all with anthro's being an "odd-ball" science--so
long, that is, as someone is willing to pay for it. That's the rub. As an
avocational anthropologist who makes his living in advertising, I can't
help noticing that in a world where "culture" is now as common as Kleenex
and people in any number of fields do qualitative research and talk about
ethnographic methods, our unique selling propositions have become
commonplace. In today's intellectual supermarket, not doing something
about this is looking to go out of business.
