I am seeking information concerning the recently publicized case of a Hmong sh-
aman who sacrificed a dog and pleaded guilty (as part of a plea bargain) to in-
tentional cruelty to animals, in exchange for reserving the right to appeal on
1st amendment grounds. Is this information correct, and does anyone have furthe
r insight into this interesting case? I would especially like to know whether
the method of killing the dog was indeed bludgeoning as described in the LA
Times front-page article, an uncharacteristic method. Thank you. Amy Catlin
