How many doctors usually call their patients, especially if they're women,
by their first names. I have two doctors who have become friends, and
when we see each other socially, it is first names all round, but when I see
them professionally, I call them Dr. They hesitate to call me by my
first name on such occasions because I happen to be older than they are.
So age, as someone pointed out,is also a factor. Ruby Rohrlich
