creation of symbols

My question is how active do you think this creation of connections is, what with the possibility that each individual has a different point for that
inner connection to have meaning.
Maybe a better way to say it is that there is a chance for the same symbol
to mean different things to different people and with that in mind, what are the chances that symbols, and connections based on them, are superficial only.

Does it matter at all?
