Dara,

Yours is one of several requests for subscription information I have
received. Others have said that good discussions generally outweigh the
noise, except perhaps in the summer, so I may have acted too hastily. At
any rate, if my message alerted people to how the tone of the list may
alienate some new subscribers, it's probably for the best.

There are several lists on NativeNet pertaining to indigenous people. Send
the message "subscribe native-l" to listserv@tamvm1.tamu.edu. You will be
subscribed to the general, informational list, which is indexed and
archived, and will receive info on the others. natchat is an informal,
less scholarly discussion group that you can join at the same time by
typing "subscribe natchat" on a separate line.

I am sending information on H-Net in a separate message. Anthropologists
should note that H-Net has many specialized lists and is always looking for
volunteers to moderate new lists.

Since I'm no longer a subscriber I'm sending both messages directly to you.
Would you be good enough to forward them to Anthro-L?

Best wishes,
pts
