A while back there was a brief thread on Silko, all of which I seem to
have deleted. Can anyone provide me with a quick synopsis of the
criticisms of Silko's work? As chair of our small department, I have an
adjunct who wants to use this as a main text for a Folklore & Mythology
class. She certainly has the right to choose whatever text she deems
appropriate, but I wanted to provide her with some feedback.
By the way, the other text she's using is Spretnak *The Lost
Goddesses of Early Greece*. How credible is this as
anthropology/archaeology? [I don't mean to get into some pomo discussion!]
