Is there an anthropology list anywhere?

For a while, I've been looking for topics on this list that resemble
anthropology. I confess I haven't been reading thoroughly (who could and
retain sanity?), but I suspect most everyone will understand why I am
disappointed.

An experiential note -- this caught my eye:

>FINALLY!! AN INTELLIGENT BIT OF DISCUSSION (I.E. SOMETHING THAT
>MADE ME FURROW MY BROW IN THOUGHT, RATHER THAN ROLL MY EYES IN
>EXASPERATION) THAT ACTUALLY SOUNDS VAGUELY LIKE THE ANTHROPOLOGY THAT
>I AM STUDYING! THANK YOU T.K.!

And then for the life of me, looking back, I couldn't find what it might
have refered to!

My hat's off to you who stick it out, trying to pursue some significant
topics. But what explains the rest of it? Do people really have time
for spinning trivia (or are these points important to someone?)? Do egos
really thrive on such slander?

Does anyone know of a list where well-meaning and thoughtful people
discuss anthropology--at least most of the time? If you have an answer,
please address me, not the list, as I fear I'll never find it there...

Thanks.

(that's the minimum self-identification, lest some have a field day,
ascribing mean motives to my gender/cultural identity, extrapolated from
whatever -- who needs it? -- is this the kind of thought-space anthropology
creates in the world?)
