I am interested in information, either via personal experience or
via suggested readings, with regard to the "ethnography" of classrooms
of my ESOL students. I am interested in Vietnamese, Cambodian and Latin
American classrooms. What are teacher expectations, what is the teacher/
student relationship, what are typical methodologies, what skills are
emphasized, how does a classroom in these countries contraast with American
classrooms. I am curious as to the schema these students bring with them
to the U.S. This could help me deal with any cultural responses these
students are making to our classroom. Thank you.
