Dear Netters,

Has anyone on this list dealt with the impact of information technology
(IT) on traditional cultures in their research? The School of Nursing and
Allied Health at the University of Guam is getting ready to set up a
distance ed program for health care training on several remote island
republics of Micronesia. In addition efforts are currently underway to make
health information more widely available to local health care facilities in
the district centers of these islands via the Internet and on-site CDROM. I
would be interested in reading the experiences of others who have
encountered adverse or positive impacts of IT in the groups they work with.
