I'M POSTING THIS ON THE GENERAL LIST WITH APPOLOGIES TO THOSE AROUND THE
GLOBE WHO ARE UNINTERESTED IN THE Canadian Anth & Soc. Association
CONFERENCE, COMING UP IN MAY.

This is a proposed session I've just sent off to B.McKellin, If
anyone out there is interested in participating, please e-mail me your
abstract (125 words). You could also send it to Bill McKellin
<mcke@unixg.ubc.ca>, the programme coordinator at UBC.
If you send a copy to McKellin, be sure to say which session it is for.

"WEAVING CULTURE AND SOCIETY: Textile Making and Makers"
Cross-culturally, textiles are often the essential mediums
through which society and culture is reproduced. Papers exploring
economic, tacit, symbolic and/or cosmological aspects of textile production
and knowledge are invited.
