They are also good for "urban" anthropology. They prevented me from dying
of sleep deprivation whilst living among the unwashed savages (:-) ) of
downtown Cornwall Ontario, where I was working for Parks Canada as an
archaeological fieldworker/slave. Anyway, my neighbors seemed to run off
alcohol, not food or sleep, and it's probably a good thing I resorted to
ear plugs as opposed to the shotgun suggested above :-). Although it was
tempting at times....
