Bob Ehrenreich is probably right that the Republicans' cuts will have an
effect on all academics, especially those in working in areas that NEH
funds. On the other hand, much of the funding for pure archaeological
research comes from NSF, and there is little doubt that Anthropology under
the democrats did not exactly thrive there.
