Thank you for your reply.

I understand your point, and I fully appreciate the fact that White Americans
have traditionally screwed around with Native American history, and that there
are other such cases extant world-over.

My only objection is to the use of the word history. While the White
Americans in question may lie about what happened, what happened is still
what happened. Their telling a fib does not change the way things actually
happened, it just adds onto their time in purgatory. <g>
