Here's one more quite recent reference:

Russell, J.A., ed. *Everyday Conceptions of Emotion: An Introduction
to the Psychology, Anthropology, and Linguistics of Emotion (Kluwer,
1995).

The Shweder edited *Culture Theory* is also a good starting point,
especially Michelle Rosaldo's "Toward an Anthropology of Self and
Feeling." The ARA article is very informative.
