Searching for a Margaret Mead quote

My name is TJ Williams and I work for a professor of Psychology at Northwest
Missouri State University. For the past few weeks I have been searching for
the reference to a quote that was either written or spoken by Margaret Mead.

the quote reads:
"Never doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change
the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has."

I can find reference to it all over Netscape, but not a single reference lists
the original source. My professor would like to utilize this quote in her
book, but cannot find the source.
I have also tried various quote books, including those for women's quotes only.


If anyone has an idea of where to look or what the source is, I would be forevergrateful. I am stressed to the hilt and listservs is my last option before
reading all of her books. Which would be fine, but, I have a difficult enough
time trying to read all of my own material for classes.
