Ugly blood? Actually, those nukes were merciful in a certain way;
it would have been far worse all round to invade. The residents of
those cities would have dies of siegedeath as opposed to the quick
flash of the bomb and the relatively quick end from radiation
poisoning. Not that it matters; they were the enemy.
