If you're talking about Americans in *general* and not specific cultures
within the United States, then we're more *neolocal* -- i.e., newlyweds do
not live with either the wife's family or the husband's, but live in a
new location.

However, if you were referring to a specific culture and I managed to
miss it (it's late tonight, and I've been writing exhibit text for the
past few hours...), then I defer to your knowledge. :)
