Just back from great 13-day vacation on Honduras mainland.
Was able to see Naranja site near Yojoa, and understand that
it might well be other than Mayan.
Would like to know more about pre-Columbian interactions between the
Mayan and the non-Mayan peoples of the region 1000-3000 yrs ago,
including verification on topics such as the diffusion of Aztec
innovations into the Mayan world (described by Schele & Freidel),
18-Rabbit's recruitment of non-Mayans to bolster the Copan labor force
(also described by S&F), and accounts of other interactions between
Mayan and non-Mayan people such as the ancestors of present-day
Mosquitia inhabitants.
Willing to use inter-library loan as well as WWW and direct
contact if you can send leads either via newsgroup post or direct
email. & if I've sent this to the wrong newsgroup, let me know.
Thank you.
