1.89 MYr. "The stratigraphy of the Koobi Fora Formation was long
misunderstood, and a spurious date of 2.6 MA for the key KBS Tuff also
retarded the understanding of the site. The latest information on the
Tuff sequence and dating, and the Omo Tuffs to which they correspond, is
given by Brown et al. (1985b) and McDougall (1985): ....
