I once asked similar questions when I was working on my PhD in Valencia.
Domingo Fletcher, then the Director of the Servicio de Investigacion
Prehistorica, told me that he consumed nothing else than acorns for one year
during the Civil War. There must be a huge repertoire of recipes and anecdotes
from that period.
