AAA and AA new editorial trends

I would strongly agree with the suggestions by some of you regarding
your feelings about the AA and its current editors and their policy.
TALK WITH THEM FIRST, before your go over their heads. This is only
common curtesy. Then, if you don't like their response, do what your
heart demands. I am sure they have been receiving the usual positive
feedback and congratulations from their friends and colleagues. They
will probably be quite surprised and even hurt to hear you don't all
agree with their wisdom about how anthropology is going in the 90's.
But they will surely react even worse if you don't even bother to tell
them first what you feel is wrong. Also, someone mentioned that some
manuscripts had been rejected out of hand... Is this just a rumour?
If it is true, I think perhaps these people have a legitimate
reason to speak to the AAA adminsitration directly, and should. Does
anyone know any of these people? I don't think it is too embarassing
for them to admit they were turned down, is it...?
