Something I have noticed myself doing lately is interchanging yall and
you guys in my conversations. This of course really messes people up
because even linguists have a difficult time figuring out where I am from
(deep south west Alabama) when I dont use geographically occuring words
or phrases. But like Dr(?) Cronk it never occured to me that someone
would actually consider it sexists.....the first thousand times I heard
"you guys" used was by women....never men. (I have a lot a female
relatives from the North.)
