The New Mexico creationists are using their best tool -- the ignorance
of state administration and of members of local school boards.
The "creation model" is never presented. All they want is to suppress
teaching about evolution. I suppose they hope that if nothing at all is
taught about origins, then creation will become the default, without
having to violate church-state separation,
Evolution should be taught along with the rest of biology; it's part of
the package. Fundamentalist Christians don't have to believe it. Some
of these folks must have very weak faith.
