This looks like an old story I have heard some time ago:
Someone in desperate financial need put an advertisement in the newspaper
(Ya, in those days one advertised in the newspaper) reading:
The ultimate way of winning money in betting on horseraces. How you will
always win. Send a dollar to .... (adress).
Everybody who send a dollar received a note back wich said:
"You always win if you bet on the right horse."
