Your point is good, because it suggests that in human evolution, as in
technological evolution, the most advanced do not always prevail, but,
rather, the most adapted to the (given) environment. There might have been
earlier hominids that created the graphics; I suspect the question is
currently an academic one. We ASSUME that the "latest and best" did the
works.
