Ron Takaki, a Professor in Ethnic Studies at UC Berkeley, published a
very interesting history of the Asian American experience in the United
States called _Strangers from a Different Shore_ in reference to the
Western point of entry (Angel Island) of most Asians to the US... though
there could be other meanings as well when you think about it.
Filipino-Americans are covered along with other major Asian groups in US.
