Cargo cult comes from so called "Thousand years movements" in
Indonesia and Australia, and they are cults of materialism. (The
native population did not understand where the white men get all their
wealth, so they figured it comes from heaven, and therefore they
created a cult at which they carried out certain rituals which they
thought would provide them with material wealth. A pretty sad story
all together....
