Check out Charles Tart's Transpersonal Psychology. If anyone has ever
looked at consciousness in depth it has been him. He is the only
theorist that takes a true scientific approach to metapsychological
principles of Psychology IMHO. I have studied a fair amount of
transpersonal stuff and I always end up re-reading Tart's stuff when
I want to understand alternative perspectives or cosmological belief
systems. His work is as close as anyone's in terms of a true
scientific approach to understanding the field of metaphysics.
