I know that the vikings had a huge influence on ireland, and that it was they
that founded the first cities there. dublin and cork for sure. I don't have
my books/notes here but I'm pretty sure that you can find more info in peter
harbison's _prechristian ireland_, or at least pointers to better sources in
the bibliography.
