Yeah, that's closer to it... that and personal idiosyncracy, too
much time on the hands, and of course the ever-popular closed-mindedness.
I should also point out that the Hoover Institute is named after
Herbert Hoover (whom you might find not to be such a bad guy) rather
than J. Edgar.
