"the horrific nature of this suppression"? Curious suppression that
leaves a man selling millions of books. This phony-baloney suppression
story is just an attempt to build the Velikovsky myth and sell his
books to conspiracy buffs and persecution-complex types. Isn't the
pathetic-science-wannabee market big enough? C'mon, Walt, compare
Velikovsky's "persecution" to that of Galileo again; we all get such
a kick out of that.
Also, Walt has clearly forgotten the phenomenal success of Stephen
Hawking's book of a few years ago, or indeed some of Carl Sagan's.
Books which appear to have significant science content *do* sometimes
sell well, whether they actually have such content (like Hawking's)
or not (like Velikovsky's).
Hey, Walt: any comment on Velikovsky's "theory" that oxygen fusion
powered the expulsion of Venus from Jupiter? I'd like to add your
opinion to my library of your thoughts on relativity and cold fusion.
