It's spelled Lilith.
As I recall, the legend is that God created Lilith after he created Adam,
and that Lilith was created from the dust, just like Adam, making her more
independent. So independent that she was banished or something. Then Eve
was created from one of Adam's ribs, making her more subservant to Adam.
