"drawing out" the speech of children

A few weeks ago someone had asked about techniques for "drawing out" the
speech of children; ways of getting them to verbalise their activities. I
was just looking through the november issue of scientific american, and
noticed an interesting article on the "private speech" of children, and how
it relates to learning. I would recommend taking a look.
