You've missed the point: retribution is NOT something one needs to
"go along with." It's _done to you_ whether you like it or not, in
the hope you'll _hate_ it. That's why we call it "retribution" and
not "positive reinforcement."
Have America's schools encouraged such failures to understand as a
bug or a feature? If people no longer see any difference between a
pat on the head or a kick in the butt it's no wonder "Society" has
allowed itself to moulder and stink.
