Jane Harrison, a great anthropologist who has been tabooed out of
existence by modern multiculturalism as "evolutionary" believed firmly
in an original matriarchy in the development of Greek religion and
gives evidence from Greek mythology, rites, and drama in two books,
Prolegomena to the Study of Greek Religion (1903) and Themis (1912).
