I'm not sure exactly how relevant you will find this, but I
thought it might be something you would appreciate and understand.
One of the most incredible things I've ever heard said in my life
was by an AA male in, I estimate, his 60's. He was yelling at a young
man who when asked why he never dated AA women said some very hideous
things. The older gentlemen said in part of what he said "...when I
think of my wife at home asleep in bed, so strong and brown and
beautiful; it makes me cry to see these young black men who don't even
know the beauty of their own race."
What he said made me cry. The love and sorrow in his voice were
unmistakeable.
