I have always found reading Casteneda's books (I've done the entire series
twice) engrossing and entertaining. Usually, questions of whether it was
"true" or not were not crucial to my enjoyment. Curiously, I usually am
very skeptical or concerned when reading other works relating to such
mystical events.
Of interest in recent years has been the writings of some of his
compatriots (Florinda Donner and Taisha Abelar) in the Don Juan exper.
If this is all a hoax it is getting more subtle and elaborate, almost
to the point of fascination. I recently recieved notice that Carlos is
publishing a video odescribing specific (yoga type) exercises that an
individual can engage in to improve awareness. It is called "Tensegrity".
Also, some of his apprentices are putting on a special seminar at the
Omega Institute this Spring. Certainly a shift in the gist of his work.
I would like to hear from anyone who has been to any such similar
seminars. Would you recommend. BTW - Both Donner and Abelar are PHD
Anthropolgists.
What would you call the study of anthropolgists anyway? ;). DP
