David Froehlich (eohippus@curly.cc.utexas.edu) sez:
`A bit of a correction here both bats and murid rodents predate other
`placentals into Australia by millions of years.
Really? Bats, I can see, but I'd assumed that the terrible problems
in recent years with murids were due to their recent arrival. ...Although
I guess problems with new arrivals don't eliminate the possibility
of a pre-existing ecologically integrated species.
