: Ridiculous. All mathematical models of this type have
: "fiddling parameters". If we knew the values of these
: parameters with as much accuracy as say the universal

I knew there were multiple problems with the original study
done some 15 years ago by Wilson, but I was unaware that
identical charges were leveled against subsequent work, some
of which was carried out by the early critics.
In any event, this objection would carry more weight if the African
Eve hypothesis weren't fully supported by other genetic research
in this area. The work of Cavalli-Sforza et al, e.g., _The
History and Geography of Human Genes_ demonstrates the same
pattern of migration for modern man -- out of Africa no more
than 100,000 years ago.
